Just do this test. Pick up somebody from the country side of Spain, France, Germany and ask them if they know what's the difference between European Parlament and the European Comision.

Why do we want them to participate in any kind of elections if we are not able to clarify what is the election for ?

Eveybody laugh about the Belgiums, but, they have the best election regime ever, you are force to vote. I think Europe should do the same.

The treaties have established a union of states - increasingly a union of heads of state or government.

The Commission has an important task to safeguard the common interest, but it is not an accountable government.

Oversized majorities in the Council and the European Parliament require consensus.

The citizens of the European Union have been added as an awkward afterthought, but our irrelevance can't be overcome by PR campaigns.

Only a union based on the political choices of its citizens will be able to face the challenges of the 21st century.
